Urgence climatique!
Vieux pipeline rouillé = eau potable en danger
Eau et pétrole : danger!
Pas dans nos cours d’eau!
Fermons la ligne 9b
Eau potable en danger!
Protégeons nos écosystèmes
Nous sommes le vivant qui se défend
Urgence climatique!
Vieux pipeline rouillé = eau potable en danger
Eau et pétrole : danger!

***Call to action!***
On July 25, 2010, the largest land-based oil spill in North America (Turtle Island) occurred in the Kalamazoo River Basin in Michigan. It wasn't the first caused by a pipeline leak, but the information is often too hard to obtain! This disaster was, this time, of a scale impossible to hide and revealed in broad daylight the incredible threat that weighs on us, our water and our ecosystems at every moment. This situation is due to the irresponsibility of oil companies and the carelessness of our governments. It is therefore up to the peoples living in these endangered territories to take matters into their own hands.
To commemorate this tragic event, the RVHQ is launching North American Oil Spill Day. The purpose of this day is to highlight the proximity of the threats that pipelines pose to our living environments.
How to participate:
Take a photo of you (alone or in a group) near an oil infrastructure near your home (or near a place that is significant to you). Prominently display a poster or banner with the slogan of your choice. Send us the photo or publish it directly on the event page with a mention of the place and the context. The accumulation of these militant images will allow us to demonstrate the extent of collective awareness vis-à-vis the dangers caused by the network of North American oil pipelines.
Example of english slogans:
Water Protectors
Not in our waterways!
Let's close line 9b (or line 5, or line 3, etc)
Drinking water in danger!
Let's protect our ecosystems
We are the living defending itself
Climate emergency!
Old rusty pipeline = drinking water in danger
Water and oil = danger!
