Dear all,
Chief Na'Moks and myself closed a mobilization call five minutes ago. Some six hundred of us heard about who the Wet'suwet'en are, our 22,000km of territory, our five clans and thirteen houses, and our sacred duty to the land. I am writing now to invite you to continue our journey with us.
Please click this link to commit to taking action with us on the 1st of April by either joining or organizing an action.
Chief Na'Moks shared with us how, at seventeen, he went through his boy-to-man journey. Dropped off on the Yintah in October, he spent six months out on the Land. Chief Na'Moks shared with us how he listened to the animals, scouted to see birds flying low, knowing rougher weather was coming. He shared stories of drinking from a creek of clean water as a boy, a creek that has now been destroyed by industry.
What will we do with this knowledge?
Together, we can stand up for clean water and for solidarity. There are 1,100 branches in this country – I need you to commit to taking one.
In order to win, we will need to be present at so many of these branches. We need to step up, working together, expanding our comfort zones, creating local groups, growing them, strategizing together, knocking on doors, talking to managers, winning. We have built a large infrastructure for supporting people on this journey - April 1st is the time to join!
I look forward to seeing you in the streets on April 1st. On April 5th, a large Wet'suwet'en delegation will present themselves to RBC's leadership, backed by all of you out in the street and buoyed by our solidarity and community.
Misiyh,
Eve Saint
