Ariel is a former Google worker who was forced by the company to resign after protesting Project Nimbus, a 1.2 Billion dollar contract between Google, Amazon and the Israeli government and military. While at Google she co-founded Jewish Diaspora in Tech, an anti-Zionist tech workers collective in solidarity with the struggle against the carceral state and technomilitarism. She is a multilingual person and interpreter and the founder of Respond Crisis Translation. Since leaving Google she has been working full-time as Respond’s executive director, while continuing to support the No Tech for Apartheid campaign demanding Google to rescind Project Nimbus.
She will be giving a talk Wednesday March 22nd 6pm at Leacock 26 for Israeli Apartheid Week co-hosted by SPHR McGill and SPHR Concordia.
